Octopus LA-88 8 Channels Line Preamplifier
Description
The Octopus LA-88 is an Eight Channel Line Preamplifier designed for professional use.
The LA-88 features 8 inputs and 8 separate corresponding outputs on the rear panel as well as 8 auxiliary inputs on the front panel.
Apart from the very transparent response and quality of the circuitry, the unique character of the “Octopus” stems from the possibility
of having the first 4 channels (1..4) clean and the other 4 channels (5..8) colored, generating harmonics on the input signals
through a new concept saturation circuit “LED technology” designed by Livio Argentini.
The Octopus has been designed to connect unbalanced audio instruments with high impedance, like synthesizers,
keyboards, guitars or bass guitars, to professional recording and mixing equipments with balanced inputs.
The use of one of the front panel inputs, disables the correspondent rear panel input. This way you can
connect 8 fixed instruments on the rear and have 8 front panel inputs to be used on demand, optimizing the studio’s wiring setup.
The high versatility of the Octopus LA-88 stems from the ability to give transparency through the linear
channels for acoustic instruments as well as to give character to the electric and electronic instruments by
generating harmonics with the LED saturator, on top of than having 8 rear or 8 front possible inputs and the
known reliability of the Livio Argentini electronic design.
